1. What is art?  Work together to come up with a definition and record it on

2. Make a list of 15-20 words related to your definition of art. Give each word a value from 1-10 based on its importance to your definition. Create a word cloud using WordItOut or WordClouds. Save as a JPG and open with Paint before transferring to this Year 7/8 Cubism Google Slideshow or Year 5/6 Cubsim Slideshow

3. Who decides whether art is good or has any value? Discuss the difference between subjective and objective. Record two objective decisions and two subjective decisions. Is one better than the other? Why/why not? Is the decision regarding the value of an artwork objective or subjective? Why/why not?

4. Select a cubist artwork. Add it to this Google Slideshow. On the following slide note what makes it cubist? What specifically do you like about it? What do you dislike?

5. Is photography art? Explain your answer. Find an example of a photograph you think is art. What makes it so?

6. Consider this quote by Edward Degar. What do you think it means?
